Bus Schedules can be affected by school delays, cancellation or other types of emergencies. SchoolReach is utilized at SAD#27 to inform parents/guardians of school delays or cancellations due to inclement weather, as well as other school emergencies that affect start times, dismissal times or other pertinent situations.

Changes in bus scheduling due to weather conditions or other factors will be announced via SchoolReach. The Goal is to provide phone calls as soon as feasibly possible to ensure the safety of the students and staff.

Parents usually know when a storm is coming and should listen to TV or radio for cancellations or postponements. .

Along with weather related early dismissals, there is also the possibility of emergency evacuations due to burst pipes, loss of heat etc. In a case such as this, all students will be evacuated. Radio and news station will be notified and the SchoolReach phone message system will be activated. Parents should have provisions in place for such emergencies to ensure children are picked up at the school or from the appropriate bus stop(s) as designated. In any event of emergency dismissal, parents or guardians who come to pick up their children MUST park in the parking lot and not in the bus loading areas.
